Overview

Are you a strategic communicator passionate about storytelling, branding, and engaging global teams?

 

In this role, you’ll shape MAF International’s internal communications strategy, ensuring clear, inspiring messaging across key channels. As a brand guardian, you’ll uphold MAF’s voice and values, managing publications, newsletters, and digital platforms while supporting effective crisis communication. You'll train and equip staff, supporting leadership with strategic messaging and strengthening internal engagement - continuously refining communication efforts for maximum impact.

Salary:
GBP: £38,500-£43,800 

AUD: $74, 800 - $85,000

These salaries shown are relative to living in close proximity to the MAF International Ashford or Cairns support offices.

Responsibilities

Shape & Drive Internal Communications Strategy – You will develop and implement MAF International’s internal communications plan, ensuring clear, engaging messaging across all channels while supporting key stakeholders.

 

Champion Brand & Ethical Communications – You’ll act as a brand guardian, protecting MAF’s voice and values while ensuring ethical storytelling, data protection compliance, and a positive public perception.

 

Develop Content & Crisis Communications – Manage internal publications, newsletters, the website, and the intranet, ensuring effective communication. In crisis situations, you’ll coordinate timely and impactful messaging.

 

Empower & Train Staff – You’ll provide communications training, including online resources, for new hires and global teams, ensuring consistent messaging and professional development.

 

Support Leadership & Team Development –  You will oversee digital asset management and support leadership with strategic storytelling, reporting, and communications improvement.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Educated to degree or equivalent level in a relevant subject
  • Communication training
  • Able to successfully manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Experience of working in a communications environment in the Third Sector
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft applications
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Able to successfully manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Experience in gathering, organising and presenting information in an informative and creative manner
  • An understanding of the challenges of working in a developing country
  • Experienced in copy writing and editing for print and online channels

Desirable:  

  • Qualification in journalism
